Amplifide's TranceMissions 2009 YearMix

The TranceMissions YearMix 2009 compiles 50 of the most popular and most talked about Trance and Progressive Tunes of the year 2009 into one 2 CD mix. Its quick mixes and fantastic tunes will have you hooked in no time at all. This was the first attempt at a quick mix (average of 2.5 mins per song) mainly because up until this point I wasn't good enough at mixing to do it that fast. I'm pretty pleased with it and think you will be too. Key was not taken into consideration for this mix. Mainly sorting was by BPM since it progresses from 128 BPM to 141 BPM. Good things about this mix? The intro..   ;)

Download TranceMissions 7

TranceMissions 7 is the January 2010 Mix and is the first Mix of the year. This is one of my favorite mixes to date and is one of the most energetic and most "live club" feeling mixes Ive compiled. Make sure you watch where you're going in the car! Speeding tickets are no good. (also: trees)

Amplifide's TranceMissions Volume 6 (Dec 2009)

Download TranceMissions Vol. 6

TranceMissions Volume 6 is the December 2009 Mix and the last mix I did of the year 2009. Funny story, when making the album cover I accidentally made it say XI. (?!) I know right? So i had to go back and fix it after I posted it online. Dumbo me.. This is also the first TM mix with redone voiceovers. Anyway, It begins with the super Poppy-house song, My Number, by Andy Duguid feat Donna and Anthony. From there it heads on into some Progressive and then onto some great Hard and Progressive Trance and finally rinses down with a melodic aftertaste. Lots of 2009 favorites on this mix.

Favorite Tracks: Everything, and Wormhole Adventures (still a live performance dance floor killer!)

Amplifide's TranceMissions Volume 5 (Nov. 2009)

(*Update* Added personalized cover for TMS 5)

Download TranceMissions Vol. 5

TranceMissions Volume 5 is the most secret and least listened to mix of the TM series so far. I barely told anyone when i put it online! There's nothing wrong with the mix at all, it just came out at a time when I was super busy (November 2009) so it didn't get promoted much. Hell, it didn't even get its own specific album cover!* It begins with a short instrumental track which sounded great flowing into the second song which is surprisingly a house remix of a Snow Patrol song! This mix has some truly beautiful Trance tracks on it as well as a few cool House tracks I stumbled across in October and November of '09.

Favorite Track: Sky Cafe.

(*Update* Added personalized cover for TMS 5 in March 2012)

Amplifide's TranceMissions Volume 4 (Oct. 2009)

TranceMissions Volume 4 is the October 2009 Mix. This is probably the 3rd most popular mix of the newer ones (From Rising to TM7) Its the first mix in which I progressively went up in BPM from beginning to end. All mixes prior (purposely) to this were all the same BPM from beginning to end meaning that the mix was the same speed at the first song and the last song. This mix progresses from about 128 BPM to about 136 BPM at the end. This mix also includes a Classic track at the end. (Seven Cites: an all time favorite of mine)

This was one of the most creative mixes I did and was the start of the mixes becoming more versatile in that they were composed of tracks of all major sub-genres of EDM (electronic dance music). TM4 includes tracks ranging from the almost-Minimal Norman and Attalla Man on the Run Remix, to Proggy-House tracks like Bruised Water, all the way up to Uplifting Trance tunes like "Waiting by Dash Berlin feat Emma Hewitt.

Sit back, plug in, and enjoy!

Amplifide's TranceMissions Volume 3 (Sept 2009)

TranceMissions Volume 3 is my Birthday mix! (September 13 2009) Its a high energy faster paced mix which is super hitting and driving. Its got some beautiful tracks in it as well as a few Electro-Trance-rs in there. This mix was done when i was spending a lot of time in Knoxville with an old crush, Amanda.
This is a great compilation.

Amplifide's TranceMissions Volume 2 (Aug 2009)

TranceMissions Volume 2 was recorded late August 2009 when I thought the new mixes would be done bi-monthly. They later turned out to be better in a once a month mix, as people didnt have enough time to absorb the first mix before the second one would come out. Eventually I would like to start a once-a-month 2 part mix released at the same time, but that is for the future to behold.

TranceMissions Vol. 2 is a very Progressive and groovy Mix with less solid Trance and a slower, more Electro-Proggy sound to it. This is one of the most interesting mixes as many of the artists in it are extremely unique and creative.

TrackListing:
01 - Jose Amnesia - Transfusion (No Regrets Vocal Mix) (7:28)

Amplifide's TranceMissions Volume 1 (August 2009)

Finally the time had come. I felt comfortable enough with my mixes, beat matching, timing and styles to begin a new benchmark in my DJing career.
Thus the TranceMissions were born.
TranceMissions Volume 1 was recorded August 2009. It was the beginning of the pinnacle of all I had learned in the years I had been mixing. It consisted of a wide variety of tracks I could truly call MY selection. It had its influences from the big shot DJs of course but it was more a culmination of all the sounds I had grown up loving. TranceMissions is all about education. I wanted to create a series of mixes with the freshest, newest collection of Trance, House, and Progressive available to anyone who wanted to keep up with Electronic music or just wanted something good to groove or workout to. TranceMissions is much more than trance. Its a monthly mix dedicated to the best Dance Music freshly released.

Volume 1 is the only one denoted with a sub-title; Escape 118. This, simply put, is the agreed upon average height, in meters, that Earth's atmosphere fades into outer space. At the time this mix was recorded, that's all i wanted, was to be off the earth. Glad to say things have begun to look up since the TranceMissions began.

TrackListing:
01 - Tritonal feat. Christina Soto - Crash Into Reason (7:43)
02 - Cosmic Gate feat Kyler England - Flatline (Kyau vs Albert Remix) (5:01)

Amplifide Classics: Kristina (July 2009)

The Kristina Mix is properly named for my super cousin, Kristina, who lives in Dallas. I recorded this mix for her. Notably, I also took this opportunity in time to momentarily return to a more progressive sound in the mix. With tracks from the likes of Alex Gaudino and Adam K & Soha, its guaranteed to sate the progressive and electro-house appetite. This is probably the second most popular mix requested. Kristina likes it, Barbie likes it, I like it, hell, even Kisa likes it! So, you better like it too! (waves gun)

Tracklisting:
01. Myon and Shane 54 - All Night Rock and Roll (Squash 84 Remix)
02. Laidback Luke - Need Your Lovin' (Felix Cartal Remix)
03. Paul Van Dyk - Home (Kaskade Extended Mix)
04. Steve Brian - Yaya
05. Armin Van Buuren - Never Say Never (Alex Gaudino Remix)
06. Tritonal Feat. Soho - Piercing Quiet (Jl Aleph Remix)
07. DJ Tatana - Autumn Sun (Dub Mix)
08. Oceanlab - Lonely Girl (Gareth Emery Remix)
09. Andy Moor & Ashley Wallbridge - Faces
10. Oceanlab - On A Good Day (16 Bit Lolitas Remix)
11. BT - Rose of Jericho (Adam K & Soha Remix)
12. Abstract Vision - Crystal Source (Ilya Soloviev and Poshout Present Crystal Design Remix)
13. David Forbes meets William Daniel - The Act of Fear (Sebrof and Leinad Remix)

Amplifide Classics: Kisa (June 2009)

Kisa (kee-sah) is a girl from Hawaii who moved back to the states June of 2009 and this mix was recorded for her as something to listen to on the 32523 hour flight back from Hawaii. Its a great Trance mix with lots of vocals. I really like this mix and it quite possibly remains the most popular and most liked of all the mixes. Of course this has nothing to do with Kisa (whom most of my friends continue to call "kiss-ah") but rather with the uplifting sound of the mix. The mixes were almost there.. The timing was getting better.. The time had almost come..

Includes tracks from: John OCallaghan, Cressida, Adam Szabo, 4 Strings (Reward Vocal Remix), A98, Oceanlab, Adyjay, Nadia Ali, Carlo Resoort, Costa, Gareth Emery, and Cornell.

My Favorite Track: Cornell - Sunny Day
Kisa's Favorite (pretty sure)- Oceanlab - On a Good Day (Daniel Kandi Remix)

Its a true summer, beachy mix. Love this mix.

Amplifide Classics: Voltage (February 2009)

Voltage was mixed in February 2009 in the first few months of living with my new roomies, Kendall, and Katie. This mix is definitely supercharged with some of my all time favorite high-energy Trance tunes. This was also the first mix I recorded with post-mix composted voiceovers, which I recorded and edited myself. Most of them were composited WAY too loud and I apologize as I didn't really know what I was doing at the time and will probably scare the shitness out of you a few times throughout the mix. As with the past couple of mixes, this mix was heavily influenced by Armin's ASOT.

Voltage includes music from: Dfolt feat Marcie, Armin Van Buuren (Richard Durand remix), Heatbeat (Randy Boyer remix), Ferry Corsten, 8 Wonders, Alex M.O.R.P.H. (Jonas Hornblad Remix) Tritonal, DJ Shah, Sonic Element (Store N Forward Remix) Mr. Sam, Super8 & Tab, Sied Van Riel, and DJ Fire.

Katie's Favorite track: "Mr. Sam Feat clAud9 - Cygnes"

Amplifide Classics: Thirst (December 2008)

Being a still young and venerable DJ, I took a very long break from recording mixes as i struggled to regain balance and stability by finding MY music. The previous few mixes and sudden obsession with deep progressive and electro-house had left me teetering on a brink of what I actually liked in electronic music anymore. Once again I found myself turning back to my roots in Trance. This re-awakening came in the form of Armin Van Buuren's weekly radio show, A State Of Trance. The show inspired me to take my mixes to another level, although keys were still out of the picture and timing was still hadn't completely developed, from here on out putting together a new mix would consist of hours of studying and listening to new music. This was also a point in my life where I started to change mentally and begin to see life in a somewhat darker and more realistic aspect. The younger me started to fade away as I began to look toward the future and the rest of my life, not only as a DJ but as a person.

The Thirst Mix (December 08) showed my further maturing as a DJ and musician as i began to take the mixes more and more seriously. I began to be annoyed with people who looked only at THEIR genre. I wanted to embrace electronic as a whole; an aspect which one cannot see only by listening to my recorded mixes but has to take in live sets too. When a hip hop artist is looking for inspiration he doesnt only listen to hip hop records. He listens to old school, R&B, jazz, even rock. Why should Electronic be any different for a DJ?

Thirst includes tracks from: Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Kandi & Neumann, Duderstadt (Nitrous Oxide),  Ee-Sma, Kyau & Albert, Julian Vincent, Ilya Soloviev & Paul Miller, Ben Gold (Sean Tyas), Dash Berlin (w/ Cerf, Mitiska, & Jaren), Daniel Kandi (Paul Miller), Oceanlab, Paul Van Dyk feat Lisa Miskovsky, and The Killers.

I absolutely LOVE this mix. (Favorite track: Lovin Feelin)

Amplifide Classics: Xcite (May 2008)

The Xcite (or Excite, I named it both kinda) Mix (Live tables Mix) is another Very very very deep, progressive, and house-y mix from May 2008. I did this mix when I was DJing in Nashville at Hotel Indigo every Friday night. This meant that if I wasnt playing Hip Hop this was the sort of music i was playing. Looking back im surprised it went as well as it did, but Nashville is a very proggy scene so most people were fine with it. I like most all of the tracks on this mix not only because they are all super groovy but also because it reminds me of playing in Nashville every week, staying in ballin-ass hotel rooms every weekend with fun people, and making tons of new friends. All the tracks on this mix are pretty similar which was also a new trend my mixes began to assume as my ears matured.

Tracks include sounds from Sebastian Leger, Eric Prydz, Fischerspooner, Ingrosso, Lucio Aquilina, Mind X, George Morel & SPJ, Andrea Doria (Impetto remix), Miki Litcak & Ido Ophir (Dousk Remix) Mescal Kid, Wolfgang Gartner, Tim Le El & Wollion, Alex Gold, and Sam Ball.

Amplifide Classics: Heat(July 2008)

I did this mix in the summer of 2008 (July 08) and couldn't really think of a better name. This mix is extremely progressive and deep house-y. This also marks the point in mix-ology where the mixes began to sound better and flow better. I remember I mixed this when i was all into Beatport and downloaded all the tracks (pretty much all) from there.

This mix is deep, hard, and pumpin. (I know you want it) aaahheem... ok!

This is another of the old favorites recorded March 2008. Its my sister's favorite mix of all time apparently (I think..) as well as a few other people. Its a very different mix and includes some really cool remixes. This was around the time when I began to listen to more deep and electro house music. This mix was recorded on the tables and surprisingly I managed to keep the volume at a reasonable level!

This mix has tracks from Cosmic Gate, Gabriel & Dresden, Shiloh (oh, yeah, I really used to love Shiloh), Danny Tenaglia, Chris Lake, Funkagenda, Marc Marberg & Kyau vs. Albert,  Terry Grant, Aeronautics (ZeroSix), Wolfgang Gartner, Marc Cyris, Johan Gielen, DJ Shah, 68 Beats, Matt Rowan, Dousk, Fer Ferrari, and First State.

Amplifide's February 2008 Hop Mix

Brikee Brikeee! This is one of the 2 recorded Hip Hop Mixes I ever did. Yes, some of my friends bugged me to that point. This was mixed on the tables February 2008. I was actually surprised to find this mix since I don't remember recording a Hip Hop mix that long ago, but hey, file dates don't lie. (Ok, sometimes they do but it could only be older!)           nevermind...

This mix is currently not for download because I hate you and everything. And Hip Hop. This is TranceMissions!! Why are you even looking at this entry?! Get to some real tunes!!

Amplifide Classics: Pause (February 2008)

Note: From this post, forward (in time), all the mixes are split into numbered and labeled tracks. Some of them are mixed and recorded with actual turntables and mixer, and the newer ones are mixed live in Tractor 1.0. Old school!   :)))

Pause Mix (February 2008) was recorded on the turntables. One can tell this because of the ridiculous volume at which the mix was recorded. The whole mix is like one big clip (if you don't know what that means, you probably wont even notice what I'm talking about) but this is one of the mixes that marked the time in my life when I really started studying beat matching. The mixes are still rough but I was beginning to understand the concept of beat matching electronic dance music.

This mix includes music from Solar Stone, Maor Levi, DJ Shah (before he got huge and changed his Alias to Roger Shah), Shiloh, Max Graham, Jose Amnesia, Kyau and Albert, Dousk, Oakenfold, and Filo & Peri. Influences weighed in heavily from Thrillseekers Nightmusic 2 album, and Armin Van Buuren's A State Of Trance 2007 mix.

Amplifide Classics: Stone (Single-track mix)

The Stone Mix is for stoners (the beginning of it anyway). It begins with one of my favorite songs of all time by the extinct band, Common Children (Kudos Phil). It then flows into one of Paul Oakenfold's friggin old tracks off his Voyage Into Trance album (April 2001). From there is on to "Beautiful" by Ferry Corsten (May 2006: an all time favorite of mine). The rest of the mix (dont wanna spoil it for you!) is a collection of tracks from Paul Van Dyk's - Politics of Dancing 2 album, Faithless, Sensation White (2002), and some more old school tracks. This mix was recorded sometime around 2007 I believe.

Amplifide Classics: Religion (Single-track mix)

This is a fast (140ish BPM) killer old one-track-mix with a hell of an intro. With lots of K-Tracid. In case you've been living under a mountain (aka TN) K-Tracid is an old Hardstyle Trance DJ. He has some terrific melodies in a few of his songs. I'm not really sure what happened to him but I haven't heard anything from him in a LONG time (His Myspace). Other influences on this mix include 4 Strings, some White-Label Tracks (sped up waaay too fast), and more K-Tracid. In retrospect this mix is crazy, all over the place, and should not but heard by anyone. Download it!

Amplifide Classics: Reflection (Single-track mix)

The Reflection Mix is a one-track mix as well, but its one of the newer/older mixes. The mixes aren't ALL train-wrecks and i actually used the original mixes of some of the songs instead of album rip-offs. Classy huh? This was around the time when my mixes started being about what music was new at the time and compiling more recent sounds into them. Musically this mix is from the turn of the year 08/09 but was recorded late March of 09 and includes hits like Man on the Run, Ill Be There For You, On a Good Day, and Time Wav Zero. This mix was made to mentally prepare us party-goers for Armin Van Buuren in Atlanta April 1st.

Amplifide Classics: Mycah (Single-track mix)

Ahh, the Mycah Mix. I mixed this for an old crush, Mycah Arnold. Turned out to be pretty popular among non-Mycahs too. This is one of the first mixes (06-07) I ever did. Its pretty cool, especially the beginning, which is a song off Hybrid's Morning Sci-Fi album played backwards (the original is played backward) which results in the track actually being played forward for a short moment before resuming normal backwards play. (Is your brain blown yet?) There's everything from DJ Icy to old school tracks from Oakenfold's Perfecto Presents Another World (October, 2000) album even a rare Rabbit In the Moon - Bullet In The Gun remix! This is a TRUE old old ooolldd school mix. The mixes aren't much to mention but the tracks are a great selection of some of the oldest trance tracks I own.

Amplifide Classics: Midnight (Single-track mix)

This is a favorite among my close friends who have known me long enough to remember it. It has influences from Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Collection which was a 3 disc mix set. Trance, House, and Afterhours (Chillout). This mix brings back memories of being in love and Thanksgivings spent at OpryLand Hotel in Nashville.. Aaaahh the good old days. Its another old one-track-er but I mixed it 4 times before getting it right. I remember this entire mix used to be stuck in my head all day and night from where i had listened to it so much. Listening to it again now is funny because I thought the mixes sounded so good when i first recorded it and now I cringe and laugh at the same time when I compare it to today's TranceMissions. In the words of Scott Nelsen "Theres something to be said for taking key into consideration."

Amplifide Classics: Merge (Single-track mix)

The Merge Mix is an older (one track) personal favorite (as far as selection goes, not mixing quality) with inspirations from Paul Van Dyk's Inbetween album, Thrillseekers Nightmusic album, Tiesto, of course, and stuff from that day and age. I remember driving to Nashville while jammin to this mix alot.

Amplifide Classics: Light (Single-track mix)

This is the Light Mix. Its another oldie one-track mix. Its got alot of Tiesto on it from the "Just Be" album. The Mixes are not that good as is true on most of the early mixes.  :)  But the first track is a straight killer track from Shiloh. See what you think.

Amplifide Classics: Key West (Single-track mix)

This is the Key West Mix I made for my sister, Celia, and I when we went to Key West for new years eve to visit my mom at the end of December of 08! Its got all sorts of stuff on it from house to trance. Check-check it out!!

Amplifide Classics: Honeymoon (Single-track mix)

This is part 2 of Jon's Honeymoon mix. If my memory serves me right, and i like to think that it does, this mix is very housey and poppy with a random Chevelle song right at the beginning. Fun! (Summer of 08)

Amplifide Classics: Euphoria (Single-track mix)

This is the first half of a mix i did for one of my best friends, Jon Locket, for his honeymoon. I did a couple of these mixes and they mostly include my favorite songs from old and new in the summer of 08 I believe. He was married at Top Sail Beach in NC. Fun mix for a fun Trip!! Both of the honeymoon mixes are pretty vocal and romantic-like for all you lady trance-lovers out there.

Amplifide Classics: 32 Degree (Single-track mix)

This is another old (2007) one-track mix, meaning that the entire mix is one track and not split up into multiple tracks like the newer mixes are. I don't remember much about this mix but apparently is cold and icy, so by all means, download it and leave me some feedback on it!

Amplifide Classics: Trance Classics (Single-track mix)

This is a pretty early mix i did to highlight some of my favorite tracks from the olden days as well as sort of a personal study of mixing old-style trance. Its got some great OLD tracks!

Amplifide Classics: 420 (First single-track mix)

This is the first mix i ever recorded. Its from about 3 years ago I suppose. Not very good of course, but hey, all DJs have their first mixes right? At the time I was into Hardstyle Trance and the mix reflects that. I also knew it wouldn't be my only mix so I focused on mixing music I already had so I could learn more about the music I loved.
